Women's right in Islam

Women's rights in Islam.

Women are considered equal to men in terms of their human dignity and value. The Quran and the Hadith (the sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ ) provide guidance on women's rights and their position in society. In Islam a woman is a completely independent personality.

In Islam there is absolutely no difference between men and women as far as their relationship to Allah is concerned, as both are promised the same reward for good conduct and the same punishment for evil conduct.

"The Qur'an says:
And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women."(2:226)

Here are some of the rights granted to women in Islam:

  1. The right of education:- Islam places great emphasis on seeking knowledge, and this applies equally to men and women.
  2. The right to own property:- Women are entitled to own and dispose of their own property.

  3. The right to work:- Women have the right to work and earn their own income.

  4. The right to choose their own spouse:- Women have the right to choose their own husband and to consent to marriage.
  5. The right to divorce:-  Women have the right to initiate a divorce under certain circumstances, such as if their husband is abusive.

  6. The right to inherit:- Women are entitled to inherit from their parents, husband, and other relatives.

  7. The right to protection:- Islam provides women with the right to be protected from harm and abuse, including physical, emotional, and other.

Islam grants women many rights in the home and in society. Among them are the right to earn money, to financial support, to own property, to an education, to an inheritance, to being treated kindly, to vote, to a bridal gift, to keep their maiden name, to worship in a mosque.

The Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ said:

"Indeed, women's rights upon you,

are that you treat them kindly! [ Tirmidhi, Book.44, No.3087]

The issue of women's rights in Islam is complex and has been the subject of much debate and discussion both within and outside the Islamic community. While some argue that Islam is inherently patriarchal and oppressive to women, others argue that Islam actually provides many protections and rights to women that are often overlooked or misunderstood.

status of muslim women in islam by hadees And Quran:-

"When she's a daughter, she opens a door heaven for his father.

"When she is a wife, she fulfills half of the deen of her husband.

"When she is a mother, there is a paradise under her feet.

Islam teaches that men and women are equal in the eyes of ALLAH, and that both are responsible for their own actions and accountable to ALLAH for their deeds. However, there are differences in the roles and responsibilities assigned to men and women, which reflect the natural differences between the sexes and are intended to ensure social harmony and stability.
