Perform Umrah
Umrah is the pilgrimage performed by us (Muslims) to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This can be done at any time of the year.There are many rituals and acts of worship involved in performing Umrah. Here is how to perform Umrah:-
- Ihram:- Enter the state of ihram, which involves purifying oneself and wearing suitable clothing. Men must wear two pieces of white, seamless cloth (one wrapped around the waist and the other over the shoulder and men in ihram cannot wear stitched clothing), While women in ihram can wear any modest, loose-fitting clothing that covers their bodies well. Hands and faces must remain exposed although socks may be worn. Every person must bathe before entering the state of Ihram.
Wear Ihram clothes before Meeqaat.
Note:- if you’re going to Madinah before Makkah, you don’t need to enter into the state of Ihram at this point. You will do so after your stay in Madinah.
- Niyat (intention):- Make a good intention in your heart to perform Umrah. Perform two rakats of Namaz and make intention as the Meeqaat approaches, then recite Talbiya again and again.
After uttering the Talbiyah, you will now be in a state of Ihram and be known as a "Muhrim". Make sure you’re well aware of the prohibitions of Ihram and ensure you don’t fall foul of its rules. If a rule of Ihram is violated, Damm or Sadaqah will be required as expiation.
until you enter Masjid-e-HaramRecite Talbiyah repeatedly. After sighting the Kaaba stop reciting Talbiya and start Tawaf and perform the acts of Umrah.
- Tawaf :- Start tawaf from the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad) and complete seven rounds. At the beginning and end of each round, if possible, touches or kiss the black stone.
it while saying the takbeer "(Bismillah, Allahu Akbar)" (In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest). But if there is a crowd, it is enough to raise your hand without touching it and say Takbeer. Pray a lot during Tawaf and recite the Qur'an, praise Allah, Allah Pak definitely accepts the prayers made during Tawaf.
- Maqam E Ibrahim:- After completing seven rounds of Tawaf, go to Maqam Ibrahim and pray two rak'ahs behind it if possible. If there is a crowd, you can pray anywhere inside Masjid al-Haram.
- drink zamzam after Salah.
- Sa'i (Safa Marwa):- After prayer, proceed to the hills of Safa and Marwa, located within Masjid al-Haram. Starting from Safa till Marwa, walk back and forth between the hills seven times and say Sai. The seventh round ends at Marwa. read third kalma during sai.
- Shaving or Trimming:-After completing the sai, men should have their heads completely shaved or their hair trimmed. Women have to cut a small part of their hair.
- Umrah Completion: At this stage, you have completed the rituals of Umrah. Now you can come out of the state of Ihram. And now you can change your clothes and resume regular activities.
What is Ihram?
Ihram Garments :- You will then get changed into your Ihram garments which for men consists of two, normally white, clean seamless pieces of cloth. The sheet which wraps around the waist covering the lower body is known as the Izar and the sheet that is draped over the upper body like a shawl is known as the Rida. Sandals shouldn’t cover the heel and ankle.
Women are not required to have a specific dress code. She may wear loose clothing of any color and should cover the hair on her head. Hands and face should be open in condition of Ihram.
Note:- If you want to do other perform an Umrah later on you must enter Ihram outside the boundary of the Haram for perform Umrah. Many people enter into Ihram from Masjid Aisha which is the nearest and most convenient location from Masjid al-Haram. Transportation to get there is available near the mosque. and some people goes to taeef and Masjid jurana also for Ihram.
Importance of Umrah:-
Umrah is an important Islamic pilgrimage that holds great importance for Muslims around the world. Although it is not mandatory like Hajj, it has spiritual and religious significance.
Here are some reasons why Umrah is considered important:-
Spiritual Cleansing:-
Umrah provides an opportunity for Muslims to purify their souls and seek forgiveness from Allah.
Following the Sunnah:-
Performing Umrah is considered following in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is a way of emulating the Prophet's Mohammad ﷺ actions, as he himself performed Umrah and encouraged his followers to do the same.
Unity of the Muslim Ummah:-
Umrah attracts Muslims from all over the world regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. It is promotes unity, brotherhood among Muslims. Because Allah says that every Muslim is equal. That's why we come together in worship and pray.
Dua (Supplication):-
Umrah is a time when Muslims pray and ask for Allah's blessings, forgiveness and guidance. And Allah gives what we ask.This is the time to connect with Allah and speak your heart out.
In this time Allah gives everything we ask Allah and that which is better for us.
While Umrah holds immense importance in the lives of Muslims, it is essential to note that the primary obligation in Islam is to maintain a strong relationship with Allah.
"Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Anhu: A man asked Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) which is the deed that is equivalent to performing Hajj with you? The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to performing Hajj with me".
